Three: Sergeant W. Hunter, 16th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles, who died of wounds, France/Flanders, 29 April 1918

Private William Hunter, Royal Irish Rifles, from Belfast, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 4 October 1915. As a Sergeant serving with the 16th Battalion, he died of wounds on 29 April 1918. He was buried in Holywood Cemetery, Co. Down.

With an embroidered Christmas postcard for 1916 from ‘France’ to ‘Clara’; forwarding slips (3) for the medals and plaque (this not with lot) and a listing of Sergeant Hunter’s possessions, 29 April 1918.
