William N. Williamson was born in and enlisted at Glasgow. As a Private in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 2 October 1915. Serving with the 11th Battalion he was killed in action on 13 July 1917. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
