An O.B.E. group of eight attributed to Captain Guy Wemys Alcock, Royal Navy

The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, O.B.E. (Military) Officer’s 2nd type breast badge, silver-gilt; 1939-45 Star; Atlantic Star; Africa Star; Italy Star; Defence and War Medals; Coronation 1953, all unnamed, mounted as worn, good very fine (8) £150-200

Guy Wemys Alcock was born on 5 November 1908. Entering the Royal Navy, he was rated as a Midshipman (Engineers) in January 1928. Promoted to Sub Lieutenant (E) in May 1930; Lieutenant (E) in October 1932; Lieutenant-Commander (E) in April 1940; Commander (E) in June 1944 and Acting Captain (E) in April 1951. Awarded the O.B.E. (Military) on 13 June 1946.
