Alexander Anton was appointed Ensign in the 4th West India Regiment on 14 September 1804; Lieutenant, without purchase, 25 December 1804; Captain, 8th W.I.R., from 3rd W.I.R., 29 February 1816; Half-Pay 8th West India Regiment, 25 September 1817. Captain Anton received the War Medal with two clasps for Martinique and Guadaloupe.
