Awarded the Silver Star by General Orders No. 5A of 24 June 1944. ‘Private Irvin H. Reddish, 17123015, Infantry, 743rd Tank Battalion, for gallantry in action on the coast of France on 6 June 1944. Entered military service from Nebraska.’

Irvin H. Reddish was born on 11 June 1910 and enlisted into the Army on 7 November 1942. Awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action on ‘D-Day’. Wounded in early July 1944 and later invalided home - being wounded by artillery shrapnel. Released from the Army on 22 December 1944. Reddish died on 1 May 1985.

With General Orders paper and some copied service papers; copied citation for the Silver Star and other research. Formerly sold as a single Silver Star. Also with riband bar, metal insignia (2) and cloth patches (2) for display purposes.
