The Kings Own Regiment did not serve as a Regiment during the Korean War but provided drafts of men for the RUR, the Gloucesters, the Kings Regt and the Welch Regt. Included with the medals is the Official Medal Roll of the Kings Own dated 5 Jan 1954, which shows that 5185 L/Cpl Gardiner qualified for the U.N. Medal.
