India General Service 1854-95 (Lieutt. H. W. E. Georges, 3d Madras Lt. Cavy.) lacking suspension and clasp, some contact marks and edge bruising, very fine £100-140

Henry Wallace Edgecome Georges was born on 1 September 1856 and was commissioned a Sub Lieutenant in the 9th (East Nofolk) Regiment on 26 February 1878. Serving in the Indian Army, he was first posted to the 3rd Regiment of Light Cavalry on 1 July 1882 and was ranked as a Squadron Officer in February 1883. Ranked as 2nd in Command of the 3rd Madras Lancers in August 1893 and promoted to Temporary Major in November 1895. Confirmed as Major in February 1898, he was appointed Commandant of the 3rd Madras Lancers on 11 August 1900. Promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel and Commandant of the 28th Light Cavalry in February 1904. Granted the brevet of Colonel on 26 February 1907.

Served in the suppression of the Rumpa Rebellion, 1879-80 - operations in the Rumpa and Golconda Hills; and in Burma 1886-87 - in operations of the 6th Brigade (Medal and 2 clasps). With copied
