General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Palestine (Major (Q.M.) G. B. Cocks, W. York. R.), one or two edge bruises, otherwise good very fine £140-160

George Badden Cocks enlisted in the West Yorkshire Regiment sometime prior to the Great War, and went out to France as a Corporal in the 2nd Battalion in early November 1914, where he quickly saw action on Messines Ridge, but he was severely wounded at the end of December and evacuated home.

Remaining employed on the home establishment as a regular soldier, he was awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal as a Warrant Officer Class 2 in
AO 368 of 1926, prior to being commissioned as a Lieutenant (Q.M.)

Advanced to Captain (Q.M.) in December 1934 and to Major (Q.M.) in December 1938, he served in the 2nd Battalion in Palestine (Medal & clasp), and was extra regimentally employed from July 1942. Advanced to Lieutenant-Colonel (Q.M.) in November 1945, Cocks was placed on the Retired List in November 1948; sold with a quantity of research, including medal roll verification for his G.S.M.
