India General Service 1908-35, 1 clasp, North West Frontier 1935 (824032 Gnr. C. M. Creber, R.A.), very fine £100-120
Charles Michael Abbott Creber, who was born in Callington, Cornwall, in May 1916, qualified for his India General Service Medal for services in 66th Field Battery, R.A. Having then been placed on the Army Reserve, he appears to have served in the Colonial Police in Egypt, but returned to the U.K. in August 1939, most probably on account of having been recalled. He was subsequently taken P.O.W. and was held at Stalag IXC at Muhlhausen, and was demobilised in March 1946. He died at Tavistock, Cornwall, in January 1989.
