Six: Warrant Officer Class 2 G. W. Wood, Military Provost Staff Corps, late Worcestershire Regiment

General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Palestine (5250064 Pte., Worc. R.); 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Defence and War Medals, these unnamed; Army L.S. & G.C., G.VI.R., 2nd issue, Regular Army (5250064 W.O. Cl. 2, M.P.S.C.) very fine and better (6) £120-160

George William Wood was born in Birmingham on 3 April 1915. Employed as a Butchers Improver, he enlisted into the Worcestershire Regiment at Worcester on 19 January 1934. Served in the Signal Regiment, 1934-35 and as an Officer’s Servant, 1935-40. With the M.P.S.C. and Military Police from 1941. Transferred to the Worcestershire Regiment in 1954.
