William R. Goulding was born in Kilfinaghty, Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare. A Clerk by occupation, he attested for short service with the Royal Munster Fusiliers at Enniskilling on 27 February 1900, aged 23 years, 6 months. He served with the 1st Battalion in South Africa, June 1900-April 1902. Discharged medically unfit on 15 November 1903. With copied service papers.
