The King’s Own Light Infantry (South Yorkshire Regiment) 1st Volunteer Battalion Officer’s Helmet Plate c. 1883 - 1891, a very fine and rare example, crowned star pattern back plate with Garter and laurel overlays, in the centre a coiled bugle horn with central rose, top title scroll reads ‘The South Yorkshire Regiment’ and the lower scroll ‘1st Volunteer Battalion’, three loop fasteners, a fracture in ‘South’ in the top scroll and a dent on the bottom star point otherwise very good condition £300-400
