Jeremiah Callaghan was born in Fermoy, Co. Cork. A Labourer by occupation and a member of the 3rd Battalion Middlesex Regiment, he attested for regular service on 16 November 1881, aged 19 years, 8 months. With the regiment he served in the East Indies, October 1882-November 1892. Awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal with gratuity by District Order No. 1 of 8 August 1903. He was discharged on 19 January 1904. With copied service papers.
