Trooper James Connolly, 107th Regiment Royal Armoured Corps, died in hospital on 27 August 1943, aged 23 years. Trooper Connolly was buried in the Dely Ibrahim War Cemetery, Algeria. He was the son of William and Sarah Connolly, of Primrose, Jarrow, Co. Durham. The 107th Regiment R.A.C. dated from January 1942 and was the new identity of the 5th (T.A.) Battalion The King’s Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster).
