Richard ‘Dick’ Stead joined the Grenadier Guards in 1928 and went on to become the principal trombonist on the regimental band. On leaving the Grenadier Guards in 1954 he continued his career as a professional musician, which included a residency at the London Palladium and playing with many of the top bands of the time. In 1961 he joined the H.A.C. Band, with whom he served until 1981. With copied research.
