Private Ernest Johnson, 1st Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment, died/was killed in Norway sometime between 23 April and 2 May 1940, aged 27 years. He was buried in the Nord-Sel Churchyard, Norway. He was the son of George and Sarah Ann Johnson, of Dewsbury, Yorkshire and husband of Ruby Johnson, of Whitley, Dewsbury.
