Indian Mutiny 1857-59, no clasp (Michl. Kelly, 82nd Regt.) good very fine £160-200

Michael Kelly was born in Dysant, near Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the 16th Regiment at Mullingar on 2 June 1854, aged 17 years, 6 months. He transferred to the 88th Regiment in November 1855 and to the 82nd Regiment in March 1857. He served 7 months in Malta and 10 years, 4 months in India. Kelly was discharged at Buttevant, Co. Cork on 14 February 1876, having claimed it on the termination of his second period of limited engagement. At the time of his discharge he was in possession of the Indian Mutiny Medal and five Good Conduct Badges. With copied discharge papers.
