Three ‘Michael McGuires’ on CWGC list.

John Tubman Melvin was born and lived in Burradon, Northumberland and enlisted at Cramlington into the West Yorkshire Regiment. When serving as a Private in the 9th Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 16 August 1917. His name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.

Nicholas Nugent was born in and enlisted at Gateshead. Serving with “B” Company, 12th Battalion Durham Light Infantry, he died of wounds on 11 July 1917, aged 20 years. He was buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, West Vlaanderen, Belgium. He was the son of Timothy and Jessie Nugent.
