Defence Medal, unnamed; Safe Driving Competition Medal, for 5 years, enamelled, reverse inscribed, ‘R. F. Pyle’, with brooch bar, ‘1939’ and three clasps, 1940, 1941, 1947; additional clasps (7) on a ribbon, 1950, 1952, 1953, 1955, 1957, 1958, 1959; 10 Years Safe Driving Medal, enamelled, with ‘1960’ brooch bar and 2 clasps, 1961, 1964, good very fine and better (lot) £50-70

Percy Pyle was born in Lockeridge, Wiltshire, lived at Collingbourne Ducis and enlisted at Marlborough. Serving with the 1st Battalion Wiltshire Regiment, he died of pneumonia in France on 24 February 1917, aged 19 years. He was buried in the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery. His name is also commemorated on the Collingbourne Ducis War Memorial. He was the son of William and Elizabeth Pyle, of Marlborough. With copied casualty details and modern photographs of his headstone and memorial.
