Extraction of Gold from Bullion Captured in the First China War, 1842, a gold medalet, unsigned [by the Royal Mint], crown above this gold discovered in sycee silver, etc, rev. the rt hon w gladstone master, etc, 16mm, 1.54g (BHM 2070; cf. BDW 1, 618). Trifling hairlines and a striking flaw on the obverse rim at 11 o’clock, otherwise extremely fine and very rare £400-500
