Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, 3 clasps, El-Teb-Tamaai, The Nile 1884-85, Kirbekan (Lieut. D. A. McLeod, 1/Rl. Highrs.) replacement suspension claw, carriage and clasps reconstructed, edge bruising and some pitting from star, otherwise nearly very fine £250-300

Duncan Alexander McLeod was born at Dugshai in June 1863, son of Lieut.-General Sir John McLeod, G.C.B. He was appointed Lieutenant in the Black Watch in September 1882 and proceeded to Egypt the following November. He took part in the operations in the Eastern Soudan 1884, including the battles of El-Teb and Tamaai, at the latter of which he was slightly wounded. He served with the River Nile Expedition 1884-85, including the battle of Kirbekan. Promoted to Captain in November 1889, he was killed in a railway accident at Thirsk, near York, on 3 November 1892.
