Ex Whitaker Collection 1890.

Thomas Brown is confirmed on the roll as a Private Royal Marines for the defence of the island of Anholt, in the Baltic, for which 40 clasps were issued. Several other men with these names are shown on the Admiralty roll, including six for Syria.
