Baron George Marochetti, grandson of the Italian sculptor Charles Marochetti, who was a friend of Queen Victoria, renounced his title in July 1940 in protest against the actions of Mussolini. Marochetti, born in 1893, served with the 11th Hussars in World War I and later became an insurance broker in the city of London
