Afghanistan 1878-80, 1 clasp, Kandahar (Cap. A. J. Garrett, Tran. Ser.) good very fine £200-250

Annesley John Garrett was born at Newcastle, Co. Down, on 4 January 1846, and was appointed Ensign, 97th Foot, 29 May 1866; Lieutenant, 27 October 1868; Lieutenant, 45th Foot, 18 November 1868; transferred to Bengal Staff Corps, 30 March 1870; Captain, 29 May 1878. Served in the Afghan War 1879-80, took part in the defence of Kandahar and was present at the battle of Kandahar. He was wounded near Kandahar by a gun shot on 8 May 1880, which broke his arm (Medal with clasp).
