Two officers and 23 other ranks of No. 9 Company, Commissariat and Transport Corps, were present at Abu Klea.

Frank Mires was born in the town of Maidstone, Kent, sometime in 1858. He enlisted into the Army Service Corps on 14 July 1880, seeing active service during the First Boer War in 1881, and later during the Egypt & Sudan Campaigns. He was discharged on 13 December 1898, having been found permanently unfit for further service. Sold with confirmation and sixteen pages of copied service papers.
