British War and Victory Medals (24494 2 A.M. G. W. Stables, R.A.F.), together with the recipient’s Silver War Badge, the reverse officially numbered ‘RAF 7158’, good very fine (3) £40-60

George William Stables, who was from Burghead, Morayshire, enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps in March 1916, and served out in France as a Fitter (Motor Transport) in August-November 1916, and from September 1918 until June 1919, in which latter month he was evacuated home in a hospital ship and, shortly thereafter, discharged as unfit for further service.
