John Cameron was born in Billingthorpe, Yorkshire and enlisted at Harrogate. Serving with the 20th (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, he died of wounds on 10 December 1917 and was buried in the Bucquoy Road Cemetery, Ficheux, Pas de Calais, France.
