Robert Parkins was born in Peasley Cross, Lancashire and enlisted at St. Helens. Serving in the Army Cyclist Corps, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 18 December 1915. Serving in the 9th Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers, he died of wounds on 8 September 1916, aged 17 years. He was buried in the La Neuville British Cemetery, Corbie, Somme, France. He was the son of Amelia Parkins, of St. Helens, Lancashire.
