Three: Master-Gunner G. Cornish, Royal Artillery

Crimea 1854-56, 2 clasps, Inkermann, Sebastopol ([C] orpl. G. Cornish, 12th Batn. Rl. A [rty.]), officially impressed naming with partly lost detail owing to edge bruises; Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 3rd issue, small letter reverse (3463 Mastr.-Gunner G. Cornish, Coast Bde. R.A.); Turkish Crimea 1855, British issue, unnamed, the first with refixed suspension claw, fine, the others generally very fine (3) £300-350

George Cornish was born at Chard, Somerset, and enlisted in the Royal Artillery in 1851. Advanced to Corporal in the Crimea, where he was present at Inkermann and in operations before Sebastopol, he was discharged as a Master-Gunner in 1873, after 21 years with the Colours.
