Samuel Buckley was born in the Parish of Highton, Lancaster, and served in the 48th Foot for 3 years before joining the 83rd Foot on 27 August 1805. He was discharged from Banbury Barracks on 2 December 1812, in consequence of ‘an amputated right arm from a wound at Badajoz, 19 March 1812’. He was then aged 31, formerly a weaver, and was granted a pension of 9d per diem. Sold with copied discharge papers.
