Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, undated reverse, 2 clasps, Suakin 1885, Tofrek (A. Bowen, Bombr., R.M.A.) suspension tightened, edge bruising, pitting, good fine £150-200

Alfred Bowen was born in Milford, Pembrokeshire. A Labourer by occupation, he enlisted into the Royal Marines Artillery at Bristol on 25 May 1875. Served with the R.M. Battalion in Egypt, February 1884-July 1885, being promoted to Bombardier in December 1884. Attained the rank of Sergeant in October 1890. Transferred to the R.F.R. in April 1901 and discharged on 25 October 1905. In addition to his Egypt Medal and Khedive’s Star, Bowen was awarded the L.S. & G.C. in August 1890. With copied service paper, roll extract and photocopied photograph.
