Army of India 1799-1826, 1 clasp, Bhurtpoor (Wm. Clibbon, 14th Foot.) short hyphen reverse, officially impressed naming, light marks, otherwise good very fine £800-900

William Clibbon was born in the Parish of Hammell, near Hertford, and enlisted for the 14th Foot at Limerick on 4 May 1812, aged 20 years. He served twelve years in the East Indies and was at the siege of Bhurtpoor. He was discharged on 7 November 1833, the surgeon’s report stating, ‘Private Wm. Clibbon, 12 years in India, had frequent attacks of fever during the last two years of his service there, and appears to be so much broken up in his constitution as to be unfit for further active service.’ Sold with copied discharge papers.
