M.S.M. London Gazette 18 June 1917. 18 June 1917. ‘... in recognition of valuable services rendered with the Armies in the Field during the present war.’

Benjamin Thomas Owens was born in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire and enlisted at Colwyn Bay, Denbighshire. Serving as a Sergeant with the Royal Welsh Fusilers he entered France on 5 September 1915. Serving with the 11th Battalion he was awarded the M.S.M. He was killed in action in Serbia on 18 September 1918 and was buried in the Doiran Military Cemetery.
