Medals Related to Aviation, France, Porte-Avions Arromanches, 1947, a bronze medal by G. Guiraud, robed figure of Liberty above the artifical harbour of Arromanches, reverse aircraft-carrier, three aeroplanes in sky above, arms of Great Britain and France united by an anchor below, engraved in field (Coupe Martini-Ailes, 1950, 4e Prix), 59mm (CGMP p.881; BM Acq. 1978-82, pl.57, 75); together with Rouen, 1960, a bronze plaque by Josette Hébert-Coeffin, mermaid over a map of the River Seine, reverse view of harbourside at Rouen, vessel tied up in foreground, 95 x 63mm [2]. Extremely fine, both scarce; latter in grey fitted case of issue (£40-50)
