Asia Minor, Lycia, Kherei Dynast, Stater, c.425-410 BC, head of Athena left in crested Attic helmet, reverse Athena seated right on dolphin facing left, holding spear in her right hand and resting her left hand, on which an owl perches, on a shield, 8.13gm (Babelon, Traitè II, 343). Obverse fine, reverse better, extremely rare, very few specimens known (£500-600)

A similar coin appeared in an NFA sale in California in 1979 (lot 335, sold for US $1200); another specimen is in the Bibliothèque Nationale, but there is no example in the British Museum collection
