Arthur Henry Dillon was born in Westminster on 5 January 1875, and educated at Pelham House, Folkestone, and St Georges, Harpenden. He was a Member of the London Stock Exchange and a pre-war Territorial with the Oxfordshire Yeomanry. He served with his regiment in France from 1916 to 1918, and was promoted to Major in March 1921. Sold with copy Medal Index Card and six copied pages from his correspondence file which also confirms French award.
