Private John James Gregory was wounded and taken prisoner of war at Kaalfontein on 31 October 1900, being released the following day. Sold with seven pages of copied service papers which confirm that he received a gunshot wound to his right thigh, as a result of which he was discharged as being medically unfit on 3 July 1901.
