M.M. London Gazette 23 February 1918. Awarded for his part in a very successful patrol in the Ypres Salient, November 1917. Regimental history refers.

Frederick Brand was born, lived and enlisted in Barking. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 20 February 1918. He is buried at Grand Seraucourt Cemetery, France.
