Sidney Ellis was born at St Saviour’s, Yorkshire, and lived at York. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 15 October 1917. The Regimental Chronicle states that Ellis along with two other C.Q.M.S’s. were killed when a shell landed on a dump in which they were situated. Sold with further research detail.
