Waterloo 1815 (Jos. Tucky 2nd or R.N. Brit. Reg. Drag.) fitted with replacement steel clip and ring suspension, edge bruising and lightly polished, otherwise nearly very fine £5000-6000

Joseph Tucky (Tuckie) was born in the Parish of Bearstead, near Maidstone, Kent, and enlisted for the 2nd Dragoons at Canterbury on 24th December 1804, aged 18, for unlimited service, a Bricklayer by trade. He served in Captain Payne’s troop at Waterloo and was discharged at Piershill Barracks on 4 August 1818, in consequence of ‘having contracted a severe pectoral complaint during the campaign of 1815 in Flanders by exposure to wet and moisture.’ Sold with copied service papers.
