Labh Singh was born on 14 January 1879, the son of Risaldar Buddu (late 10th Bengal Lancers). He joined the 10th Lancers as a Lance-Duffadar on 3 December 1896 and remained with the regiment throughout his military career. He was appointed Jemadar, November 1902; Risaldar, July 1915; Risaldar-Major, October 1921; Honorary Lieutenant in November 1924; Honorary Captain in October 1927 and retired on 16 November 1927. On his retirement he presented a challenge cup, a sword and three monetary prices for annual competitions in the regiment. On 19 January 1928 he was appointed A.D.C. to the Governor of the Punjab. He served on the N.W. Frontier 1897-98 (medal and clasp). During the Great War he served in Mesopotamia, 1916-21, was A.D.C. to the Army Commander, August 1919-May 1921, was three times mentioned in despatches (two found: London Gazette 21 February 1919 and 5 June 1919) and awarded the I.D.S.M. for gallantry (G.G.O. No. 2086 of 1919). On 4 June 1924 he was awarded the O.B.I. 2nd Class and on 23 October 1926, the O.B.I. 1st Class. Was awarded the Jubilee 1935 as a Pensioner in Hodson’s Horse. With copied research.
