George Huxtable entered the 37th Regiment on 18 April 1844 and was promoted to Corporal in November 1854; Sergeant in December 1857 and Sergeant Instructor of Musketry in June 1863. Served over 10 years in Ceylon and over 3 years in Bengal. Awarded the Indian Mutiny Medal and the Army Long Service Medal with a £5 gratuity. He was discharged at Pembroke Dock on 28 June 1867 having completed 21 years of service. With copied discharge papers.
