Percival Sidney Hipkin was born in Chelsea, London on 20 November 1887. He entered the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on 20 January 1903 and was advanced to Boy 1st Class in October 1903. Promoted to Ordinary Seaman in November 1905 and Able Seaman in May 1907. During the Great War he was based at Britannia, Victory I and Bristol. Latterly served with the Military Foot Police. Demobilised on 19 May 1919. With copied m.i.c., service paper and other research.
