Royal Military Academy, Pollock Medal, 2nd type, by B. Wyon, obverse: bust of Major-General Sir George Pollock facing left, in uniform, wearing the star of the Knight Grand Cross of the Bath and the Cabul Medal 1842, with the circumscription, ‘Pollock Cabul 1842’; reverse: ‘Royal Military Academy Pollock Prize, Founded by the British inhabitants of Calcutta to commemorate the eminent services of Major General Sir George Pollock G.C.B. and awarded to the Most Distinguished Cadet of the Season’, (C. H. Versturme, July 1886) gold, 45mm., 64.39g., slight edge bruising and scratch marks to reverse, nearly extremely fine £1650-1750

Charles Hamilton Versturme, commissioned a Lieutenant in the R.E. on 24 July 1886; advanced to Captain on 10 July 1898. Adjutant to Volunteers, 5 November 1898-31 May 1899. By 1903, having taken the surname ‘Versturme-Bunbury’, he was commanding 3 Fortress Company, Bermuda.
