William Simons was born in Cork, c.1808. He enlisted in to the 4th Light Dragoons at London on 7 April 1828 and served in India and Afghanistan, 1829-1842. He was invalided from the service on 28 October 1852 suffering from chronic rheumatism and general debility. With copied discharge papers.
