France, Caisse d’Épargne et de Prévoyance, Paris, c.1880, a bronze medal by J.-C. Chaplain, seated female figure receiving a bag of money from an artisan, accompanied by his wife and baby, reverse bee-hive, side named (N.E. Fontaine, Administrateur, 1882), 58mm (PBE –; BDM –; Coll. R. Marx –). Extremely fine and very rare; in contemporary maroon fitted case (£40-60)

Not to be confused with the smaller medal of the bank by Chaplain issued in 1894
