France, Bicentenary of the Publication of Grandeur et Décadence des Romains, 1934, a bronze medal by R. Bénard, bust of Charles, second Baron de Montesquieu left, after J. Dassier, reverse the Coliseum, Arc de Triomphe and the Forum above an elevation of the Château de la Brède, 68mm (CGMP p.40; cf. BDW 9, 766). Extremely fine with attractive light patina, rare (£50-60)
