Charles I (1625-1649), Newark, Shilling, 1645, crude flat crown with nine pearls either side of orb, reverse OBS NEWARKE, 5.86gm (SCBI Brooker 1223, same dies; N 2639; S 3141). Weak on one side (and corresponding on reverse) and has been cleaned in the past, otherwise about very fine, the rarer variety (£350-450)
