Edgar George Bailey was born in Portsea, lived at Southsea and enlisted at Southampton. Serving with the 15th Battalion Hampshire Regiment, he was killed in action, France, 24 July 1918, aged 19 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial. He was the son of George James and Adeline J. Bailey of 60 Winchester Road, Buckland, Portsmouth.

The medals and plaque and mounted together with the named commemorative scroll in a 578 x 356mm., (damaged) wooden glass-fronted case.
