Lieut., I.M.S.) official correction to initial; India General Service 1895-1902, 2 clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Relief of Chitral 1895 (Surgn. Lt., I.M.S.) clasps mounted in that order; China 1900, 1 clasp, Relief of Pekin (Captn., I.M.S.); U.S.A., Military Order of the Dragon (Capt. Arthur H. Moorhead, I.M.S. No. 202) with fragment of original ribbon but lacking ‘pagoda’ brooch bar, some contact marks, very fine (4) £2200-2600

Arthur Henry Moorhead was born in Port Louis, Mauritius on 20 July 1872. He qualified with the M.B., C.M. Ed. 1893. Entering the I.M.S. as a Surgeon Lieutenant on 28 July 1894, he was promoted to Surgeon Captain in July 1897, Major in July 1906 and Lieutenant-Colonel in July 1914. Granted the brevet rank of Colonel in February 1915. Colonel Moorhead died at Kyrle, Batheaston on 1 March 1916.
